Ingredients

Depending on what you feel like you can go and buy some salmon, fish eggs, avocado, crabs or shrimps. Don’t buy too much of each though. You’ll see you’ll get along with smaller amounts just fine.

The ingredients that are necessary in any case are:

By the way: If you buy the fish for your sushi you should in any case make sure that it is fresh. Buy it on the day you are planning on making sushi. Frozen fish is ok as well, but it might not taste as good as the fresh one.

Rice

I’d strongly recommend buying the rice in a special Japanese shop. You need sticky rice that is suitable for sushi.

Wasabi

You can’t do without this green hot horseradish. For starters: Don’t take too much of it at once. Believe me: It IS hot!

Soysauce

You can buy this in any Japanese shop as well.

Ginger

You don’t need to eat it with the sushi if you don’t like it. I personally think it tastes really funny but you should really try it.

Norialga

These dried alga leaves you can also buy in the Japanese shop. For most kinds of sushi these alga leaves are totally necessary.
